The Benefits of Booking Direct with Tŷ Haul (and Why Guests Love It)

Skip the middleman, keep your money, and book a stay that's tailored exactly to you

You've seen Tŷ Haul on Airbnb or Booking.com. The photos look incredible, the reviews are glowing, and you're ready to book. But before you hit that "Reserve" button, here's something worth knowing: booking direct saves you money, gives you more control, and connects you with real people who genuinely care about your stay.

Third-party booking platforms charge hosts commission fees, sometimes up to 20%. Those costs get baked into the price you pay or come out of the service we can offer. When you book directly through our website, call us on 03452570987, or email bookings@fessproperties.co.uk, that money stays where it belongs: improving your experience, not padding a corporate platform's profit margins.

Here's exactly why direct booking with Tŷ Haul makes sense for you, and why our returning guests wouldn't do it any other way.

The Personal Touch You Won't Find Elsewhere

When you book through Tŷ Haul's website or call us directly, you're in good hands from the first hello. Call 03452570987 and you'll speak with Rachel, our friendly receptionist—she takes your call, answers your questions, and shares everything you need to know on behalf of Tŷ Haul. Personal, welcoming, properly helpful.

This matters more than you might think. Got a question about parking at Wrexham AFC? Need to know if the kitchen is stocked for a birthday dinner? Wondering if your two-year-old can safely navigate the stairs? You get immediate, accurate answers from someone who knows every corner of the house.

Third-party platforms route your questions through generic messaging systems with delayed responses. Direct booking gives you a phone number and an email address that goes straight to someone who can help, often within the hour: 03452570987 and bookings@fessproperties.co.uk.

Tip: If you're planning something special, an anniversary, a remote work retreat, a surprise birthday, let us know when you book. We can't always accommodate every request, but we'll do our best to make it happen. That level of personalization simply doesn't exist when you book through a third-party site.

Better Rates, Guaranteed

Here's the math: third-party booking platforms take a cut. Sometimes it comes from us as a commission fee. Sometimes it comes from you as a service charge tacked on at checkout. Either way, someone's paying extra, and it's not going toward your stay.

When you book direct with Tŷ Haul, you're getting our best available rate. No hidden booking fees. No surprise charges that appear after you've entered your credit card details. The price you see on our booking page is the price you pay.

We also run exclusive offers for direct bookers, extended stays at reduced rates, last-minute availability discounts, and flexible payment plans for longer bookings. These deals never appear on Airbnb or Booking.com because those platforms prohibit hosts from offering better rates elsewhere. But they exist. You just have to go straight to the source.

Complete Flexibility and Choice

Third-party platforms operate on rigid booking systems. Check-in at 3 PM. Check-out at 11 AM. No exceptions. But real life doesn't always run on a corporate schedule.

Book directly with us, and we can work with your actual travel plans. Arriving late after a delayed flight? We'll arrange key collection that works for you. Need an early check-in because you're driving up from London at dawn? Let's see what we can do. Planning a longer stay but want to pay in installments? We can set that up.

This flexibility extends to cancellations, too. Life happens. Flights get cancelled. Family emergencies arise. Work trips get postponed. When you book through our website, we can discuss your specific situation and find a solution that's fair to everyone. Third-party platforms enforce blanket cancellation policies that leave no room for human judgment or compassion.

Insider tip: If you're booking months in advance and worry about needing to cancel, mention it when you reserve. We can often structure your booking with a more generous cancellation window than what appears on automated booking platforms.

The Booking Process Is Ridiculously Simple

You might assume booking direct means complicated forms, phone tag, and manual payment processing. It doesn't. Our booking system is straightforward, choose your dates, see availability, enter your details, done.

Prefer to talk through your booking? Call us. You'll reach a real person who can check availability in real time, answer questions about the property, and secure your reservation while you're on the phone. No waiting for email confirmations or wondering if your booking went through.

Payment works however suits you best. Credit card through our secure system. Bank transfer for longer stays. Split payments for group bookings where different people are contributing. We're not locked into a single payment processor that charges you foreign transaction fees or currency conversion markups.

You're Supporting a Local, Independent Business

When you book through a third-party platform, a significant chunk of your payment goes to a multi-billion-dollar corporation. When you book direct with Tŷ Haul, your money stays local, supporting a small business, contributing to the Wrexham and Cefn Mawr community, and helping preserve a historic 1874 property.

Direct bookings allow us to invest in the things that matter: high-quality linens, fresh coffee and welcome provisions, ongoing maintenance that keeps the house in pristine condition, and local recommendations that make your stay memorable. Every direct booking helps us continue offering the level of service that earns five-star reviews.
